The Clowns are a band of psychotic, demented and murder-obsessed criminals who were all simultaneously freed by The Joker in the late 2150s. Joker gathered them and promised them all vengeance for their caged past. As a result, many psycho killers donned creepy clown get-ups and followed the Joker, calling themselves the clowns. This gang, though they sound silly, are not to be underestimated. Their tactics are extremely cruel and inhumane, ranging from exploding ice-cream truck traps for unsuspecting kids or civilians, to citizens forced to bear suicide bombs and blow other people apart. They will even carve hideous and grotesque smiles into the faces of victims. They were among the top biggest, baddest, and most powerful gangs in the world, next to Cobra, The Luchadores , and The Ronin.
In the early 2180s, with the rise of Gorilla Grodd and his Gorilla Force, the Clowns began declining rapidly due to being hunted and exterminated by Grodd. Nowadays, the Clowns are but a shadow of what they once were, and it's only a matter of time before they are destroyed completely.
